Melbourne Airport

Trio Plumbing Australia has a long and successful relationship with Melbourne Airport. Trio started working at the airport as the plumbing maintenance and construction contractor for the International Terminal in the mid-1990s. Since this time Trio Plumbing has continuously provided a range of plumbing maintenance and construction services on a continual basis.

With the substantial growth based redevelopment at Melbourne Airport Trio Plumbing has been involved in supporting major commercial building companies with construction plumbing, roofing and architectural cladding.

Carlton Wellbeing Centre

Project Details

This Project involves the construction of the innovative Carlton Wellbeing Precinct for Australian Unity.

Featuring a large central park the project incorporates three stand alone buildings comprising a mix of retirement living, aged and assisted care accommodation options, and community services with a range of associated services focusing on wellbeing.

The lifestyle focused aged care facility will support positive ageing and prolong life enjoyment, consisting of aged care beds (high & low care), transitional beds, and assisted living apartments.

The Wellbeing Centre, which will be the centrepiece of the development, will be accessible to the general public and is currently being planned to include; day respite/rehab centre, physio/podiatry, seniors gym, hydrotherapy pool, medical consulting/treatment suites, cafe & education, beauty spa and supportive associated mixed-retail health.

Cladding Details

The Cladding component of this project involved the façade of a new five storey building in Rathdowne St Carlton. Trio Plumbing’s Cladding division installed Alucobond panels (approx 2,200 sq mtrs) to the façade of the building. The colours of the Alucobond used were Anthracite Grey, Cream and Lemon. The design and placement of these colours was critical due to strict town planning requirements.

This facade was technically challenging with many project specific architectural details, angled returns, varying façade finishes and specific connection types.

Various methods of framing were undertaken during the façade construction phase , including; traditional metal top hat framing, metal stud framing and suspended ceiling framing.

Due to various site constraints many methods of access to the workface were utilised. These included, scissor lift, 135′ boom, swing stages and fixed scaffolding.

Craigieburn Town Centre

Project Details

Craigieburn Central will bring the best in convenience shopping to the Craigieburn district, with a great selection of stores. It will feature fully enclosed malls, a great town square and main street precinct and an abundance of fresh food and food dining options across the market hall and eat street precincts.

Craigieburn Central will feature:

  • 3 supermarkets – Coles, Woolworths and Aldi
  • 2 Discount department stores – Big W and Target
  • Over 160 specialty stores
  • Over 2600 convenient car spaces
  • A future planned multi screen cinema
  • A 700 seat Dining Hall

Roofing Details

Trio Plumbing (Aust) carried out a JV with BSI to install the Kingspan Roofing (42,500m2) and Facade Cladding (13000m2) to the Southern precincts of the Craigieburn Town Centre. These areas covered Woolworths, Aldi, The Cinema Precinct, Big W and a number of specialty stores.
This unique project was delivered over an 18 months period and is set to transform Craigieburn into a key regional shopping and retail destination.

Foundry Apartments

Project Details

Design and construct of an seven storey building with undercroft carparking and total 119 apartments plus 13 retail tenancies. Foundry Apartments is a mixed-use development, destined to become Sunshine’s premier multi-functional facility. Its design was informed by the ‘Sunshine Beyond 2020’ Principal Activity Centre Structure Plan, which aims at establishing the area as one of Melbourne’s key activity centres. The development is integrated into both the existing urban fabric and its proposed expansion. Formulated as a microcosm of a vibrant city, Foundry accommodates a mix of retail, commercial and residential facilities, and incorporates a podium base and three individual towers. Stage 1 of the development consists of a two-level podium and a six-level tower.

Melbourne Parcel Facility

Project Details

The Melbourne Parcel Facility, based in Ardeer, nine miles west of Melbourne’s central business district, will receive a new extension and upgrades to its existing facilities.

The project involves the construction of a 20,000m2 extension, including canopies, to the current warehouse and is scheduled for completion in the first quarter 2014.

The expansion also includes new loading docks and staff amenities, additional parking and hardstand areas, and associated infrastructure works.

Roofing Details

Trio Plumbing carried out the installation of the specified Kingspan RW Insulated Roof and Roof light System along with approximately 5000m2 of Insulated Architectural Wall Panel. Trio Plumbing worked closely with the builder and supplier to deliver the program within the required timescales.

Melton Library

Project Details

The highly innovated 3,500m2 building is divided over 2 levels and integrates the council library with a purpose built centre to provide lifelong learning and community activities in a flexible space able to cater for both large and small groups. The learning hub also caters for children’s education and entertainment programs and provides dedicated facilities for community based programs such as maternal and child health services. The specialist teaching spaces incorporate the latest in wireless connectivity.

Stormwater including carpark drainage, Gross pollution tank (humeceptor), Hydraulic works (sewer, Fire service, plumbing to all fixtures and fit off of all systems, solar hotwater, gas installation and fit off. Recycled water for flushing purposes.
